As Lead Designer at Merchgirls, I had the opportunity to design multiple capsule collections ('Merch Kits') curated to showcase Merchgirls' latest products and decoration techniques. For the 2023 Summer Merch Kit, designs needed to appeal to 'high energy' brands and clients  known for their fun campaigns or involvement in festivals and lively events.

 

Since we didn't have the timeframe to test new decoration techniques, I felt the designs needed to make a strong visual impact on their own and tell a story rather than just rely on decoration techniques for the 'wow' factor that was needed. The concept I explored was 'Summer of Disco'. After playing with slightly varying colour palettes, I decided on using warm tones in contrast with pastels and a bright turquoise inspired by vintage pool tiles.
